Biography

Teaching has been the central focus of my career, and engaging with students remains one of the greatest joys of my life. I especially enjoy teaching academic writing courses, where I emphasize the effective integration of technology to support learning. Beyond the classroom, I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, often through local cuisine and meaningful connections with people. At home, I enjoy cooking and sharing meals, as well as hiking and skiing. My family and I are enthusiastic Detroit sports fans, and baseball is my personal favorite.

I come to Madison after 13 years of teaching English at Utah State University, where I also served in administrative roles for both the GELLT and TESOL programs. Prior to that, I taught English at Western Michigan University and at several private language schools in Poland. My academic background includes an MA in TESOL, an MA in Educational Technology, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technologies and Learning Sciences from Utah State University, where my research focused on English language pedagogy.
